This illuminated countenance informs my existence, my heritage and culture. My Great Grandmother, Eusebia, an orphan born somewhere in the hills of Puerto Rico also a washer woman and a teller of folkloric tales. Eusebia, the woman that raised my mother. Together, they would sit on the old wooden porch of their house in San Sebastian and say goodbye to the dead souls. This is where I come from.
